Bangkok Trip: Shopping Guide & Haul (Part 6/6)
Ola! I'm so sorry that it took me quite awhile to finish this entry..
I almost forget actually.. lol.. but anyway, as I promised.. here is the shopping guide!
I'm pretty sure most of you heard Bangkok is the shopping paradise since it's freakin cheap compared to other countries. Let me stop you there.
I will just be blunt and honest with you..
If you are not picky about fabric and the sewing neatness, yes, welcome to the paradise of cheap shopping! You can easily find 100-300 baht items and ended up with more than 50 pcs without having you to break your pocket..
However, if you are picky about quality.. forget it.. You won't be able to shop much if you expect to only spend 100-300 baht top..
Bottom line is, you get what you pay! It's just in Bangkok, they give you variety in term of pricing.. Quality goes with the price of course..

These are all the items I bought from Bangkok.. It's not that much if compared to other people who went to Bangkok..
I bought the Hello Kitty tumblr in Hello Kitty House..
Too Faced palette (I will do the review next time)
EcoTools brush
and bought some embroidered fake leather goods for myself and a friend..
The rest are clothing items
I'll share my experiences here and hopefully you'll get more idea on how you can spend your money for shopping in Bangkok..
1. Platinum
This place is super famous... I believe like 99% people will recommend you to come here.. This is the paradise for shopping (because it's cheap and it has so many choices)..
If you are Indonesian or live in Indonesia, I would say Platinum is like Mangga Dua, only a bit better and bigger.
6 floors... you can find fashion items from HEAD to TOE.
Price range: 100 baht - 500 baht (mostly 200-300 baht)
If you buy more than 1 item in one shop, you can bargain for its whole price, that's why most people recommend you to come here with a friend, so you guys can shop together and get cheaper price.
If you plan to do bulk shopping, I recommend you to bring a luggage.. People do actually bring luggage to Platinum.. I saw them everywhere..
Tips if you want to come to Platinum, do it in the morning, like 9-10 am and weekdays are preferable! Weekend is just horrible.. they are so crowded.. @_@ I came there once on Thursday and one more time on Saturday..
I personally will not recommend this place to people who have high standards for quality. I have certain standards of quality.. so after hours wandering, from 1st-6th floor for the first time.. I ended up with 1 tank top and 1 crop top.. both bought from the same shop... I freakin "putar2" the whole building.. they have more than 200 stores, yet I only like 1 store! So frustrating..
Anyway, I went back to platinum again, because I went back to the same exact store to bought my friends T-shirts, because I couldn't find it else where

The set on the left bought in Platinum 2nd Building for 450 baht
3 T-shirts on the upper right side and 2 crop tops plus 1 tank top, they're all 200 baht and bought in a shop on the 1st floor in Platinum 1st Building
2. JJ Market
Another famous place to shop, but again, I will not recommend you to come here for shop... I think this place is great for food.. If you want to shop and you are a bit picky, you can go to Section 2.. They have better shops.. Price range in Section 2 is about 200-600 baht.. Quality wise, a bit better than Platinum..
I went to JJ Market to visit Napat Cafe (read part 4/6 for Napat cafe review), so I wasn't in the mood for shopping too.. I only got 1 set of clothes in JJ Market.. it cost me 500 baht if I'm not mistaken..
Ah yeah, I also bought a Thai pants (for room wear) for only 100 baht in Khao San
and bought the yellow skort for 200 baht outside Platinum..
3. Asiatique
They have several shops in Asiatique and price wise is also cheap like 200-500 baht.. but I prefer Asiatique compared to Platinum even though I only shopped in 3 stores anyway.. lol..
First Store:
(the first 2 on the upper side) I got 2 maxi dresses, for 300 baht each
1 short dress (the light blue one), for 250 baht
Second Store:
1 jumpsuit (black, bottom left), for 200 baht
Third Store:
2 skorts (Mustard and Mint), for 300 baht each
4. Siam Square, Siam Paragon, Basically Siam Area
I like Siam area to be honest, they have so many options.. from the middle brand to luxurious brand.. It's a great place to do shopping if you have more budget, if not, you may as well enjoy window shopping like I did lol
I found several local brands that I like on the first day of my stays, but the price is quite high.. They start with 2,500 baht.. so the last purchase in Bangkok was on Mom.. Mom was kind enough to bought me several items from a local brand I like.. named Kayasis
You can found Kayasis in Siam Square and Central World (not sure about Central World.. I think I saw it here.. or Siam Paragon)
I'm not gonna share the dresses details as it's too pretty and my lighting is too shitty..
You should check their website here
My favorite purchase <3 Merci ma mere!
1 jumpsuit, 1 dress, and 1 high-waist short
They are from the Spring Summer 2015 collection :)
Very dreamy! <3
P/S: If you don't like Platinum, forget the morning market, Pratunam.. You won't survive there.. Platinum is a better version of Pratunam.. Pratunam has cheaper price, but it's double the heat and double the crazy from Platinum.. I canceled my plan to go to Pratunam after I saw Platinum lol
Ok, happy shopping ladies! Hope my experiences help!
